We reserve the right to refuse a potential buyer for any reason. Proof of acceptable housing will be required for all goats sold. The buyer is responsible for any fees associated with intrastate health certificates, shipping containers and transportation. Please note that no sale has been agreed upon until a deposit has been accepted. We do offer a discount to 4-H members.

DNA testing has become a big issue in the Nigerian Dwarf world. We do DNA typing on all of our breeding bucks. Breeding is performed under supervision with only the two intended animals being present. If there is ever any reasonable doubt as to parentage of a kid, we will do DNA testing on kids to verify parentage OR the kids will be sold as unregistered. All Nigerian Dwarf bucks born after 1-1-24 are required to have DNA testing prior to registering any offspring from them. The price of ADGA registered bucklings purchased from MeadowMist Nigerians will therefore increase by $50 due to this requirement plus the increased pricing on registration and transfer fees which we do also pay for. Our kid prices are very reasonable; we simply cannot afford to absorb the additional fee for DNA testing. Alternatively, bucklings may be registered with AGS (American Goat Society) in which case the $50 fee will not be charged. A third option will be for MeadowMist Nigerians to obtain and store hair samples for the buckling which can be submitted for DNA testing by the buck’s breeder (MeadowMist Nigerians) at such time that the buckling has successfully been bred and prior to the registration of his offspring. We will perform that testing for the buck owner for the cost of the test.

Goats shall be picked up at an agreed upon time. Please provide verbal notification in the event you cannot make the scheduled time. A second failure to pick up goats at the agreed upon time will result in forfeiture of the deposit and reservation.

All goats sold from MeadowMist Nigerians will be healthy at the time they leave the property. No guarantee is made for the future health of the goat once it is no longer in our care. All adult goats are tested annually for CAE and biannually for Johnes. We do not test for CL due to lack of testing reliability; however, in the event of any abscess a culture will be performed to rule out CL. We guarantee our herd and any goats sold by MeadowMist Nigerians to be CL-free at the time they leave the property.
